Kieren Sheridan, 20, of Fort Plain was crowned Miss Mohawk Valley 2008 during the annual pageant held Saturday night (March 29th) at Ilion High School. She is a student at Fulton Montgomery Community College. Sheridan was selected from a group of eleven contestants from Oneida, Herkimer, Fulton and Montgomery Counties. For her talent presentation she performed an Irish Step Dance. As Miss Mohawk Valley Sheridan will promote her platform entitled 'Act Now! The Importance of Volunteering'. She will represent the local area at the Miss New York Pageant in July and could possibly advance from there to the Miss America Pageant.
Over $2000 in scholarships and awards were presented to the winner and court along with acknowledgement for special awards. Sheridan will receive a $1000 scholarship for winning the title and also received a community service award. The court of honor is as follows:

The Miss Congeniality award went to BrieAnne Wilson of Gloversville.
